The Financial Housekeeping Continues

Following on from my enquiries with my mortgage provider I've started a review of my finances. You'd be amazed where you waste money. Three years ago we bought a TV, DVD player and video for €700. We were about to move into our new house, so money was tight. In order to keep the cost down we decided, in our wisdom, to finance the purchase over 48 months with the stores finance provider. I just worked out the cost of the finance and effectively we've nearly paid twice the cost of the purchase in interest. Well, we would have if I hadn't called them this morning to settle up for the remainder of the loan.

I'm looking to see where else I can cut unnecessary costs out of our lives. Don't get me wrong I like to spend a few quid as much as the next person. But I can't stand wasting money. Slowly but surely I'm learning to hate owing any form of money that has interest attached to it. In trying to clean up my act, I've found this site to be very useful.
